Cllr Janet Gardner is a survivor of Domestic Violence and she has made it her life’s work to campaign on domestic violence issues. Janet has battled the red tape and bureaucracy for well over 10 years to get this subject on the agenda and indeed Janet was the pioneer of the Council’s Domestic Violence Forum. Through Janet’s efforts the subject of Domestic Violence is no longer one which the council tries to hide and as a result, Cllr Janet Gardner is the Council’s Domestic Violence Advocate.
Cllr Gardner’s work reached another milestone with the opening of Hillingdon’s specialist Domestic Violence Court on 14th May 2008.
