Our Priorities

Working together for a safer, cleaner and fairer future. Here’s how we’re delivering on our promises to you.

Implement a Housing Charter

Everyone deserves a safe, secure, and affordable place to call home. However, under the Conservatives, too many people in Hillingdon are being let down. From poor-quality private rentals and long housing waiting lists, to HMOs being deregulated causing issues and fly-tipping.

Hillingdon is one of the few boroughs in London without a clear set of standards that protect tenants, support landlords who do the right thing, and drives up the quality of homes. Labour will change that by introducing a Hillingdon Housing Charter, which will put safety, fairness, and affordability at the heart of housing policy.

Stabilise the Council’s Finances

After almost three decades of mismanagement, Hillingdon Conservatives wasted millions of pounds and left hard-working families to pay the price. Their financial recklessness has pushed Hillingdon to the brink of bankruptcy, putting vital local services at risk.

Hillingdon Labour will bring stability and responsibility back to the council’s finances. We will sort out the mess created by the Tories, and ensure every pound is spent wisely, so we can focus on protecting the frontline services that families across Hillingdon rely on.

Make Our Streets Safe for Everyone

Whether you are walking home late in the evening, waiting for a bus, or opening a shop in the morning, you deserve to feel safe. But after decades of Tory cuts to vital services, many feel unsafe in their own communities. This has to end.

Labour will make our streets safe again. We will improve community policing, re-open the Uxbridge Police Station front counter, tackle anti-social behaviour and violence against women and girls.

We will also improve lighting and support crime prevention youth programmes to prevent crime before it starts.

Bring Back a Sense of Community

Hillingdon has always been a proud and diverse borough, but in recent years, our sense of togetherness has been shaken. We’ve seen a rise in anti-immigrant protests and too many of our neighbours have experienced fear and division, instead of belonging and respect.

We believe that our strength lies in unity. Through community events, youth engagement, and support for local organisations, we will rebuild the connections that make Hillingdon a welcoming place for everyone. Because we are each other’s neighbours, not strangers.

Clean Up Our Streets

Hillingdon should be a clean, and welcoming place to live, yet too many streets, parks, and high streets have been neglected. Fly-tipping, litter, and poorly maintained public spaces have been all too common under the Tories.

Labour will bring pride back to our borough. We will launch a borough-wide clean up plan to tackle fly-tipping, improve street lighting, and hold contractors accountable for keeping our neighbourhoods tidy.
