Labour members in Yiewsley ward have now selected their candidates for the upcoming Hillingdon Council elections which take place on May 5th 2022.

Members have chosen: Naser Issa and Sital Punja

Naser Issa

Naser lives in Yiewsley ward and has been a resident in the area for 25 years. He is an active member of the community and the lead petitioner against the proposed council plan to demolish Yiewsley library and park for the erection of 50 luxury flats in an already congested ward. Naser is the governor of Yiewsley St. Matthew’s and Cowley St. Laurence.

He is a fierce champion of tackling knife crime in Yiewsley. Naser has done a lot of research on human rights and has given interventions in the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Sital Punja

Sital became heavily involved in her local Labour Party during the first lockdown when she could no longer stand to scream at the TV from her living room, and decided that she needed to make change happen.

She became secretary of her local Labour Party and through her dress making business led the Hillingdon Scrubs campaign signing up over 400 volunteers and producing over 6000 items of protective clothing and accessories for our healthcare teams across Hillingdon.

Sital is passionate about the environment, mental health especially amongst the young, and saving our high streets.
